The S-PARTS 3DAM Out-Front Computer Mount (Short Version) is a lightweight, structurally efficient mount specifically designed to work with the Roval Rapide Cockpit.

Manufactured using metal additive manufacturing, the mount is built layer by layer from high-purity TC4 titanium powder. This allows precise control over material placement, resulting in a rigid, weight-efficient structure without unnecessary bulk. The short out-front design positions the computer close to the cockpit for a compact, integrated setup that matches the Rapide cockpit’s clean profile.

This version is intended for smaller Garmin and Wahoo head units and is not compatible with larger devices.


3DAM Additive Manufacturing — Production Explanation

3DAM (Metal Additive Manufacturing) is a production process where metal components are built layer by layer from ultra-fine titanium powder using digital 3D design data. Unlike traditional subtractive manufacturing methods, additive manufacturing constructs the part from nothing, stacking microscopic layers of metal powder to form the final structure.

S-PARTS uses this method as a mature and practical manufacturing process, allowing complex geometry, precise wall-thickness control, and efficient material use. Through mechanical simulation, wall thickness is optimised at different stress points rather than relying on hollow structures or topology optimisation.

All S-PARTS 3DAM products are produced using BLT SLM metal printers and high-purity TC4 (Grade 5) titanium powder. Printing is carried out at a precise 20 μm layer thickness, followed by stress-relief annealing, support removal, manual finishing, and surface colouring or coating to ensure consistent performance and durability.
