Visually, the R1 is unmistakable. Its form is deliberately distinct, shaped by integration and ergonomics rather than convention, resulting in a cockpit that looks unlike anything else currently on the road. This is not a handlebar designed to make noise — it’s designed to disappear beneath you.

From the outset, the R1 was purpose-built as part of the VoiceVelo ECHO system, conceived alongside it rather than adapted after the fact.

Designed Around the Rider

R1 geometry balances modern race ergonomics with long-ride usability. A compact reach keeps the cockpit tight and responsive, while a controlled drop maintains an aggressive position without forcing unnecessary compromise.

Subtle flare through the drops improves leverage and stability at speed, particularly when descending or riding hard in the drops. The result is a bar that feels natural on the tops, confident on the hoods, and locked-in when it matters most.

A subtle rise reduces wrist strain and improves comfort without softening the front end or relying on spacers or angled stems.

Carbon Layup, Used With Intent

The VFV R1 is constructed using a targeted blend of Toray T800 and T1000 carbon fibre, chosen for their complementary properties rather than headline claims.

T800 carbon reinforces high-stress areas such as the stem clamp and transition zones, delivering impact resistance and long-term durability. T1000 carbon is used where stiffness-to-weight is critical, ensuring precise steering response without unnecessary mass.

The result is a balanced layup that delivers front-end rigidity, controlled compliance through the drops, and real-world reliability.

Clean Integration, No Guesswork

One-piece construction increases stiffness, reduces weight, and creates a quieter, more cohesive cockpit. Cable routing is designed around the FSA ACR system, ensuring clean, reliable integration with modern fully internal headset standards.

The R1 supports Di2 cable routing with multiple exit ports, allowing both fully internal routing through compatible headsets and semi-external routing styles where required by frame design. This flexibility maintains a clean cockpit while avoiding forced solutions or unnecessary complexity.

An integrated computer mount compatible with Garmin and Wahoo units positions your head unit centrally, close to the bar, and out of the wind. No bolt-on adapters, no visual clutter — just a clean, stable solution designed as part of the system.

Purpose-built as part of the VoiceVelo ECHO platform, the R1 forms a unified front-end system with consistent geometry, clean transitions, and a shared design language. For compatibility beyond ECHO, a range of headset adapters is available to support integration with other frames and cockpit standards.

Flatter Drops, Better Control

The drop section features a flatter profile that increases usable hand positions and improves stability during hard efforts. Pressure is distributed more evenly across the palm, reducing fatigue while improving leverage on descents and during sustained time in the drops.

It’s a subtle design choice with a meaningful impact on how the bar feels under load.
